They fell in love in secret during lockdowns in Russia, as anti-LGBTQ laws tightened and the invasion of Ukraine loomed. Their fight for survival took them across three continents. Their identities had to stay hidden. That constraint became the creative catalyst.

The process:
We filmed real interviews on green screen, then used generative AI animation to protect the subjects' identities — transforming testimony into something that is simultaneously documentary and art. It started with hand-drawn storyboards created with the director, building the visual language frame by frame before feeding them into the model. The result is a film where the technology isn't a gimmick — it's the only ethical way to tell the truth.

Executive produced by Oscar-winner Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary's Revelations Entertainment. Slated for a 2026 festival debut.
