What begins as a comedian's personal video diary - after a routine hip surgery leaves his mother in a coma with permanent brain damage - becomes a decade-long citizen's investigation into the American healthcare system. Part medical mystery, part legal thriller, part meditation on family, it's one of those films that makes you furious and heartbroken in equal measure.

As Co-Producer, I supported the production of a film that went on to earn five Emmy nominations, a Peabody nomination, and standing ovations at screenings across the country. The film sparked real legislative action; screenings on Capitol Hill, citizen-driven bills introduced in multiple states, and a grassroots movement that continues today.

Some stories don't just need to be told. They need to be fought for.
